"Wataya" is a whole-house rental of a nearly 100-year-old traditional house located near the terraced rice fields of Kamiyamaguchi, Hayama. It was originally a house that dealt in cotton (wata), and the name "Wataya" has been kept as the inn's name. While preserving the traditional appearance with its beams and fittings, you can enjoy a relaxing stay, limited to one group per day. A guided walk through the terraced rice fields after check-in is included in the stay, tracing the history, life, and seasonal nature of the satoyama with a guide.
After check-in, we will guide you on a walk through the terraced rice fields (included in the stay). We will walk together through the entrance of the small satoyama, learning about the history of the terraced rice fields, the life of this land, and the nature of each season.
Additionally, you can book agricultural experiences such as rice planting and harvesting, ice cream making using terraced rice, dinner plans with local ingredients, and terraced rice field breakfast. By booking these as a set, you can fully enjoy the charm of the region.

The kitchen is equipped with a rice mill and a clay pot. Milling your own terraced rice and cooking it in a clay pot is one of the unique pleasures of this inn. Appliances and cooking utensils are also fully equipped, so you can fully enjoy your meals.
There is also a garden where you can enjoy time outdoors.
With a bedroom with two single beds, a room with two daybeds converted from a closet, and a Japanese-style room (four futons) that can be partitioned by a roll screen, the inn can accommodate up to 8 guests. It is ideal for families and groups of friends.
