"Wataya" is a whole-house rental of a nearly 100-year-old traditional farmhouse located near the terraced rice fields of Hayama Kamiyamaguchi. The house originally dealt in cotton (wata), and the name "Wataya" has been kept as the inn's name. While retaining traditional features such as beams and fittings, it offers a relaxing stay for one group per day. A guided tour of the terraced rice fields after check-in is included in the stay, exploring the history, lifestyle, and seasonal nature of the satoyama.
After check-in, we will guide you on a tour of the terraced rice fields (included in your stay). We will walk together through the entrance of the small satoyama, learning about the history of the terraced rice fields, the local way of life, and the seasonal nature.
Additionally, you can book agricultural experiences such as rice planting and harvesting, ice cream making using terraced rice, dinner plans featuring local ingredients, and terraced rice field breakfasts. By booking these as a set, you can fully enjoy the charm of the region.

A rice polisher and clay pot are available in the kitchen. The experience of polishing your own terraced rice and cooking it in a clay pot is another unique pleasure of this inn. With fully equipped appliances and cooking utensils, you can fully enjoy your meals.
There is also a garden where you can enjoy time outdoors.
With a bedroom with two single beds, a room with two daybeds converted from a closet, and a Japanese-style room (four futons) that can be partitioned by a roll screen, it can accommodate up to 8 people across three spaces. It is ideal for families or groups of friends.
