Tekute is a commercial facility operated by JR East Tohoku General Service Co., Ltd., and was named with the concept of "contributing to community development by working in cooperation with the local area, from the station to the town."

A well-known, long-established confectionery shop in Shiogama

Tanrokuen

This long-established Japanese confectionery shop was built in the early Taisho era, reusing materials from the previous building. It is also a nationally designated registered tangible cultural property.

Shiogama, a famous confection made by adding sugar and salt to glutinous rice flour and shaping it in a mold, is a representative Japanese sweet of Shiogama City and Miyagi Prefecture. *It is said that in the past it was called "Moshiotou," meaning "seaweed," "salt," and "sugar."

Originally a wholesale seafood store established during the Edo period, when fish businesses were forced to close due to post-war economic controls, the store utilized its location to operate as a confectionery shop selling tea utensils and Shiogama sweets to visitors of Shiogama Shrine, and has continued to do so to this day.

In addition to Japanese sweets, the shop also offers a wide selection of tea ceremony utensils. Whether you're a tableware enthusiast or looking to commemorate the start of a new life, why not stop by?
