This column introduces cafes and coffee shops around Ishinomaki Station. In Part 1, we introduced four establishments, and in this second part, we will continue to introduce more wonderful cafes. Please try to find your favorite spot.

'Kahikan' is a coffee shop located in a corner of Aito-pia Street, where many restaurants gather, and it's recommended for enjoying coffee after a meal.
'Kahikan' is located on the second floor of a building that also houses the beauty salon Anarchy monkey. The interior has a chic and calm atmosphere, with an exquisite balance of light from the windows and the brightness of plants. There are also paintings depicting Ishinomaki's tourist attraction, the Ishinomori Manga Museum, allowing you to feel Ishinomaki's artistic side.
The coffee cups with the shop's logo are cute and round, and they match the interior atmosphere perfectly. The female owner is also friendly and approachable, so please visit 'Kahikan' when you want to relax with a cup of coffee.

I'd like to introduce 'Cafe Apricot,' a place that perfectly fits the description of a 'back-alley coffee shop.' It's located on Kotobuki-cho Street, one street behind the aforementioned Aito-pia Street, and it's in a spot you might easily pass by at first glance. However, look for the banner indicating coffee is served. The retro tiled exterior and the entrance that makes you wonder, 'Is this really it?' create a charming contrast. The excitement of entering might just be part of this coffee shop's appeal.
Upon entering, the elderly owner greets you, and it feels more like visiting a grandparent's house than a coffee shop. 'Cafe Apricot' was apparently used in a TV commercial starring Takuya Kimura and Takeshi Kitano around 2012, and the owner shared stories from that time and even showed us the actual commercial. It's a wonderful place to enjoy old stories over coffee.
'Cafe Apricot' also offers lunch menus, mainly pasta, making it a great option for lunch. You'll be surprised by the sheer variety, exclaiming, 'The owner's cooking repertoire is amazing!'

All six establishments introduced so far were south of Ishinomaki Station, but from here, we'll introduce two establishments north of the station.
'CAFE SUGAWARA' is a cozy cafe located about a 10-minute walk northeast of Ishinomaki Station, along the JR Ishinomaki Line tracks. Both the exterior and interior have a warm, woody atmosphere, with plants and accessories adding color to the space. The clatter of the trains even feels comforting.
At 'CAFE SUGAWARA,' in addition to cafe menus like coffee and sweets, there are also food menus such as curry and toast. You can take a break with a cup of coffee, or grab a bite to eat; it seems like it can be used in various situations. Take a short walk from Ishinomaki Station and enjoy exploring the town, then be sure to stop by.

The last cafe introduced in this column is the stylish 'SMILE MARKET,' located in a residential area. It also offers dinner service, making it a recommended cafe when you want to enjoy a drink.
Opening the door with excitement at the stylish exterior, you'll find the interior equally sophisticated, making the time spent there enjoyable. The menu and table colors also match exquisitely.
This time, I ordered tea. The cup is also stylish, making it a truly 'Instagrammable' cafe. Those who love photos and Instagram will surely fall in love with this cafe at first sight.
The lunch plate was a well-balanced meal that filled me up, and I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied. It would be interesting to visit at different times, for lunch, cafe, or dinner.

This time, across Part 1 and Part 2, we introduced eight unique cafes and coffee shops in Ishinomaki. Each shop has its own interesting charm, so a cafe hopping tour would be great.
