This column introduces cafes and coffee shops around Ishinomaki Station. In Part 1, we introduced 4 establishments, and in Part 2, we will continue to introduce more wonderful cafes. Please try to find your favorite shop.
Now, let's start Part 2!

'Kahi-kan' is a coffee shop located in a corner of Aitopea Street, where many restaurants gather, and it's recommended for enjoying coffee after a meal.
'Kahi-kan' is located on the second floor of a building that also houses the hair salon Anarchy Monkey. The interior has a chic and calm atmosphere, with an exquisite balance of light from the windows and the brightness of plants. There's also a painting depicting Ishinomori Manga Museum, a tourist spot in Ishinomaki, allowing you to feel the artistic side of Ishinomaki.

The coffee cups with the shop's logo are cute and round, and they match the interior perfectly. The female owner is also friendly and approachable, so if you want to relax with a cup of coffee, please visit 'Kahi-kan'.

Let me introduce 'Cafe Apricot,' a place that fits the description of a "coffee shop in an alley." It's located on Kotobuki-cho Street, one street behind the aforementioned Aitopea Street, and you might easily pass by it at first glance. However, look for the banner indicating coffee is served. The retro tiled exterior and the entrance that makes you wonder, "Is this really it?" create a charming contrast. The excitement you feel before entering might be part of this coffee shop's appeal.

Upon entering, the elderly owner greets you, making it feel more like visiting a grandparent's house than a coffee shop. The owner told us stories from back then and even showed us the actual commercial footage, as 'Cafe Apricot' was used in a TV commercial starring Takuya Kimura and Takeshi Kitano around 2012. It's a wonderful place to enjoy old stories over coffee.
'Cafe Apricot' also offers lunch menus, mainly pasta, so it's recommended for lunch as well. You'll be surprised by the sheer variety, thinking, "The owner's cooking repertoire is amazing!"

All six establishments introduced so far were south of Ishinomaki Station, but from here, we'll introduce two establishments north of the station.
'CAFE SUGAWARA' is an at-home cafe located about a 10-minute walk northeast of Ishinomaki Station, along the JR Ishinomaki Line tracks. Both the exterior and interior have a warm, woody atmosphere, with plants and accessories decorating the space. The clatter of the trains even feels comforting.

At 'CAFE SUGAWARA,' in addition to cafe menus like coffee and sweets, there are also food menus such as curry and toast. You can take a break with a cup of coffee, or fill your stomach; it seems usable for various occasions. Take a short walk from Ishinomaki Station and enjoy exploring the town, then be sure to stop by.

The last cafe to be introduced in this column is the stylish cafe 'SMILE MARKET,' located in a residential area. It also offers dinner service, so it's recommended for when you want to have a drink.
Opening the door, excited by the stylish exterior, you'll find the interior equally sophisticated, making the time spent there enjoyable. The menu and table colors are also exquisitely matched.
This time, I ordered black tea. The cup is also stylish, making it a truly "Instagrammable" cafe. Those who love photos and Instagram will surely fall in love with this cafe at first sight.
The lunch plate was a well-balanced meal that filled me up, and I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied. It would be interesting to visit during lunch, cafe, and dinner hours.
