【Daydreaming in a Share House】 Discussing the Possibilities of Share Houses × Workation with a Workation Expert
"Workation" is a portmanteau of work and vacation, and it's a new way of working that has spread across Japan since the COVID-19 pandemic. Centered around remote workers, more people are staying in their favorite regions, working with just a computer, and deepening their interactions.
Roopt Okumatsushima, the setting for this daydreaming session, not only accepts share house residents but also actively welcomes group stays and week-long workation users. Takashi Sumida, the event moderator and a workation veteran of four years, has been on a workation at Roopt Okumatsushima since November 1st, so this event will be an opportunity to hear about his experiences and impressions!
Furthermore, by chance, Nobuaki Koike, Representative Director of the General Incorporated Association Ajilab, which promotes workation initiatives in Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture, will be joining us as a guest. We hope to make this a session where we can freely imagine the possibilities of Roopt Okumatsushima and workations, while also hearing about workation examples from Hitachinaka.

Nobuaki Koike Representative Director, General Incorporated Association Ajilab
Born in 1978. From Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture. The young master of "Manshuya," a guesthouse that has been in his family for generations. Moved to Tokyo for university, and after graduation, worked for a company in the city. Later returned to his hometown to take over the family guesthouse and is now also involved in workation projects.
